Jeezy made headlines earlier this week for reasons unrelated to his upcoming Verzuz battle against Gucci Mane when he dissed Freddie Gibbs and 50 Cent on his new track, “Therapy for My Soul.”
The Atlanta rapper dropped by The Angie Martinez Show to discuss the Verzuz battle and his new album, The Recession 2. While Freddie Gibbs and 50 Cent have both responded to “Therapy for My Soul,” Jeezy explained why he called out them out on the song.
“I feel like I said what I said because I do understand people gonna ask questions but that’s my business,” Jeezy said 3:45 into the interview. “That’s how I feel—my opinion is my opinion. Someone don’t like it, they gotta figure it out. But a lot of that stuff was weighing heavy ’cause it’s just been like decades of speculation and you’re like damn, that didn’t really happen like that. It’s real s*** to me ’cause it’s real life, and when your reputation and your credibility is questioned and you kept it solid, you got to really wonder who’s real.”
