Michigan Winner Hits Mega Millions Jackpot for $1 Billion

In 2018, it was revealed that the Mega Millions jackpot prize was $1.5 billion, which was the highest number the jackpot has ever gone. One person in South Carolina was able to cash out on the prize. Since then, the Mega Millions jackpot rose to $1 billion once again, and news surfaced noting a winner was chosen in Michigan.

The numbers for the drawing were 4, 26, 42, 50, and 60. The ticket that won was reportedly purchased at a Kroger store in the Novi section of Detroit. A spokesperson for Kroger issued a statement on the win, saying, “Someone in Michigan woke up to life-changing news this morning, and Kroger Michigan congratulates the newest Michigan multimillionaire.” The 1 billion dollar prize is the third-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
