Klay Thompson was a guest commentator during the Golden State Warriors’ win over the Detroit Pistons this past Saturday. After the final buzzer, Pistons guard Rodney McGruder confronted Warriors rookie Juan Toscano-Anderson, which incited Thompson to take shots at the Pistons player.
“I don’t know, this dude might be out the league soon, he’s probably made about that, who knows,” Thompson said. “He’s over here trying to start something like he’s a good player. Get out of here.”
After Draymond Green aimed some shots of his own at McGruder, former teammate Kevin Durant liked an Instagram post referring to Thompson and Green as unprofessional. NBA champion Glen “Big Baby” Davis had a clear issue with Thompson’s remarks and voiced his opinion of the Warriors star in the comments section of an Instagram post about the incident.
“Saying s*** like that, I can see why he stay hurt. Karma,” Davis wrote.
Thompson responded to Davis in his Instagram Story and claimed he would do his talking on the court.
“Dang Big Baby this what we on now!?” Thompson wrote. “I can’t wait til I see you on the court next year I’m calling iso every time. Prolly get 40 in a qtr with big fella chasing me.”
Thompson is currently recovering from a torn Achilles after spending the previous season rehabbing from the torn ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. Glen Davis is a free agent and has not played in the NBA since the 2014–2015 season.
