Tessica Brown is finally able to run her hands through her scalp after undergoing a medical procedure to remove Gorilla Glue adhesive spray from her hair.
Brown, who went viral earlier this month after revealing her struggle with removing Gorilla Glue, which she used as a substitute for hairspray. After a visit to the emergency room and possible legal action against Gorilla Glue, Brown traveled to Los Angeles to visit a plastic surgeon who could solve her problem
The Beverly Hills-based surgeon, Dr. Michael Obeng, performed the $12,500 procedure, which took about four hours, for free. In a separate video clip, Dr. Obeng explained how he was able to remove the product from Brown’s hair.
“I looked up the compound, the main active ingredient in Gorilla Glue, polyurethane, and we figured out the science and how to break it down,” he said. “So I decided, we’re going to reinvent the wheel.”
Previously, Brown responded to the criticism she was receiving as a result of the viral incident and denied reports that she was pursuing legal action. A rep for Gorilla Glue stated that the company was pleased that the procedure was a success and they “hope that she is doing well.

Tessica Brown, the woman who went viral for putting Gorilla Glue in her hair after running out of her hairspray, has raised over $20,000 on GoFundMe. She initially asked for $1,500, which she told TMZ was for wig expenses, as she feared that she would have to shave off all of her hair.
Brown also responded to people saying she put the industrial-strength glue on her hair for social media clout, telling TMZ, “I was just over the talk shows and the hate groups. I’m over all of that because y’all really—they don’t know me. And they got some people out there saying, ‘Oh, well she did this for clout. Put this on my head, let’s see how many followers I get.’ Never. I put it on social media to get help. That was it. I didn’t think for one second I’mma get up the next morning and that many people have looked at this. I didn’t think for one second that this was gone be like, me talkin’ to y’all right now.”
