According to reports, a Florida man is accused of stealing a ring from one of his girlfriends to propose to his other girlfriend.
The man is apparently still at large following the two women he was simultaneously dating learned about one another. What’s more, both women learned that this man had robbed them. Joseph Davis, 49, is the alleged con man who met the victims on the dating app OKCupid. He provided them with false names, “Joe Brown” and “Marcus Brown,” according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
One of the alleged victims said that she learned Davis was engaged to another woman via Facebook. After doing more digging, the woman said she noticed a picture of Davis and the other woman where she saw a wedding band and engagement ring that was identical to one she had from a prior marriage.
The woman then checked her jewelry box and confirmed that the wedding band and engagement rings were missing. Davis allegedly made off with a number of other items of jewelry totaling in $6,300 worth of valuables stolen from the victim. The second woman dumped Davis after learning about the entire ordeal and even returned the stolen jewelry.
“With both relationships overdue to the infidelity, the victims began cooperating with each other and with detectives,” said
