A year has passed since the unfortunate death of Breonna Taylor by shots from police officers in St. Louis. Many have been speaking on the young woman and the tragic circumstances in which she left, and now Megan Thee Stallion has revealed that she and Fashion Nova are donating $100,000 to the Breonna Taylor Foundation in her memory.
Via Instagram, Megan Thee Stallion spoke on her donation, saying, “A year ago today, Breonna Taylor was tragically taken from her family and friends. Breonna’s name continues to be a catalyst for change and a powerful reminder that justice has still not been served. Fashion Nova and I are proud to give $100,000 to the @breonnataylorfoundation created by @tamikalpalmer to honor the memory of her daughter.”
Megan also spoke on the goals of the foundation set up for Taylor, saying, “The core mission of the foundation is to support economic, social, and racial justice through police reform and government accountability. The foundation also seeks to help young people to realize their full potential, empowering them to participate in political processes and achieve better health, with mentorship programs for high-school girls, after-school initiatives, and educational support.”
Megan Thee Stallion has been using her platform to speak on the injustice against Taylor, even calling out Kentucky attorney general Daniel Cameron during her SNL performance last year.
