According to reports, the alleged gunman behind the murder of Nipsey Hussle has asked a judge to give him a break on the $6.5 million bail set for him.
31-year-old Eric Holder was arrested and charged with the murder of the prolific rapper and businessman and reportedly appeared in front of a judge in a Los Angeles courtroom this past Thursday. Holder’s public defender revealed that she filed a bail reduction motion his behalf, with the argument being that Holder’s previous criminal history before the alleged murder was minimal. Holder had reportedly only been convicted for one felony in 2012 for carrying a concealed firearm.
In the motion, it says “Based on the isolated nature of this case, Mr. Holder does not pose a risk of harm to the public.” The motion also says “Even a reduction of bail down to $4 million should satisfy any concerns by the court and the District Attorney.” The motion also says that Holder is not a flight risk, as he doesn’t have a passport. The judge in the case noted that prosecutors have until Tuesday to respond to the motion. A hearing was set for April 6 in relation to the matter. Stay tuned for more updates.
