Update 04/15/2021 9:17am:
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have officially announced their split and the end of their engagement.
A joint statement released to PEOPLE reads, “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
This comes a little over a month after news broke that their relationship was on the rocks, and rumors that they had broken up. Jennifer and Alex addressed the rumors, telling TMZ, “All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things.”

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have reportedly broken up, which sources close to the couple confirmed to People. One source told the publication that their breakup was “a long time coming.”
The two superstars started dating in 2017, and A-Rod proposed in the Bahamas two years later. In January, J.Lo spoke about postponing their wedding twice, telling Elle, “We postponed the wedding twice. We had planned what we really, really wanted to do, [but] I don’t know if we’ll be able to re-create that. We canceled it, and since then we haven’t really talked about it. There’s no rush. We want to do it right when we can do it.”
Last month, J.Lo also revealed that she and A-Rod had been in therapy while they adjusted to living primarily at home during the pandemic. She explained to Allure, “I miss being creative and running on 150. But Alex, of all people, was like, ‘I love it. I love being at home. I love doing my Zooms. I love knowing the kids are there, and you’re there all the time.’ It has been actually really good. We got to work on ourselves. We did therapy. I think it was really helpful for us in our relationship.”
