Trey Songz Avoids Charges from Altercation with Cops at Chiefs Game

According to TMZ, Trey Songz won’t face any criminal charges stemming from his altercation with cops at a Kansas City Chiefs game earlier this year.

Prosecutors cited insufficient evidence as to the reason for dropping the case. The initial footage to go viral from the altercation showed Trey Songz holding one of the officers in a headlock. Apparently, things got out of hand after Trey was being heckled for not following mask protocol.

Footage released by authorities also appeared to show Trey throwing the first punch. However, Trey’s camp insisted the officer initiated the altercation. Nevertheless, the charges of trespassing and resisting arrest — both misdemeanors — and for assaulting a police officer, a low-grade felony have all been dropped.
