Federal Agents Raid Rudy Giuliani’s New York Apartment

Federal authorities in Manhattan raided Rudy Giuliani’s Upper East Side apartment on Wednesday (April 28), as part of a criminal probe into the former mayor’s dealings in Ukraine.

The New York Times reports that electronic devices were seized in the raid, which the Times adds is a look into whether Giuliani illegally lobbied former President Donald Trump on behalf of officials and oligarchs in Ukraine. Trump appointees at the Department of Justice reportedly tried to block a search warrant from going through prior to Biden taking office.

Giuliani’s lawyer, Robert J. Costello, responded to the raid, stating, “What they did today was legal thuggery. Why would you do this to anyone, let alone someone who was the associate attorney general, United States attorney, the mayor of New York City and the personal lawyer to the 45th president of the United States.”
