Teen Who Filmed George Floyd Video Says Her Uncle Was Killed By MPD

Darnella Frazier, the teen that filmed the widely circulated George Floyd video, revealed

that her uncle Leneal Lamont Frazier was killed by the Minneapolis Police Department

on Tuesday.

Leneal was reportedly an innocent driver who was struck by police during a high-speed

chase. The police cruiser that struck Darnella’s uncle was chasing an alleged carjacking

and robbery suspect early Tuesday morning when the car collided with Leneal’s.

“I honestly can’t believe I’m making this post right now…I’m so hurt…nothing feels

real,” Darnella wrote in a Facebook post. “I woke up to the most horrible news.

MINNEAPOLIS police Killed my uncle. MY uncle… Another black man lost his life in the

hands of the police!”

Leneal’s daughter told reporters her father was going to his girlfriend’s house when the

car crash occurred. Meanwhile, Darnella questioned why police were speeding so fast in

a residential area.

“Minneapolis police has cost my whole family a big loss…today has been a day full of

heartbreak and sadness,” she wrote. “We went to the spot he was killed at and put

beautiful flowers and candles, but even thats not enough to bring him back. It’s not fair

how the police can just go around killing people…WHY ARE YOU DOING A HIGH

SPEED CHASE ON A RESIDENTIAL RODE??? You took an innocent life trying to catch

someone else.”

According to MPD spokesperson John Elder, three vehicles were involved in the deadly

crash. The police officer survived with minor injuries, while the suspect is still at large.
