Illinois Woman Busted in Hawaii for Fake Vaccine Card After Misspelling ‘Moderna’

An Illinois woman was arrested in Hawaii on Sunday after she reportedly

attempted to bypass the state’s mandatory quarantine by using a fake COVID-

19 vaccine card.

Chloe Mrozak allegedly submitted her vaccine card to Hawaiian authorities

prior to her arrival in O’ahu on August 23. However, Moderna was spelled

“Maderna” on her card, causing investigators to become suspicious of the 24-

year-old’s documentation.

The vaccine card also claimed Mrozak was vaccinated in Delaware but no such

record was verified. Investigators tried tracking her down but realized she

provided the wrong hotel information. Mrozak was finally apprehended at

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport when she attempted to fly back.

Mrozak was being held on $2,000 bail on accusations she falsified vaccine

documents.

Chloe Mrozak is being held on $2,000 bail and is due back in court

Wednesday, September 1. If convicted, she faces up to a year in prison and a

$5,000 fine.
