Nikolas Cruz to Plead Guilty for Parkland Massacre That Left 17 People Dead

According to reports, Nikolas Cruz is set to enter a guilty plea for carrying out the

Parkland High School shooting that left 14 students and three staff members dead.

The AP reports that Cruz can expect to receive a life sentence without the possibility of

parole but is also facing the death penalty. Cruz’s legal team informed Circuit Judge

Elizabeth Scherer that their client would plead guilty to all 17 counts of first-degree

murder and 17 counts of attempted first-degree murder.

What’s more, Cruz was captured on video assaulting a jail guard and attempting to

take away his taser. Cruz will face another criminal trial that could tack on more time

to his original sentence for that incident.
