In 2021, NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton appeared in an anti-vaccination documentary that found Stockton saying, “This isn’t a virus cheating us of this opportunity. It’s the guys making decisions saying, ‘No, no we’re too scared. We’re going to shut everything down. Sit in your house and be careful.’ My kids and my grandkids hearing these things and accepting them as truth when I know by my significant amount of research that it isn’t, it’s very frustrating.” Now, reports surfaced noting that John Stockton’s season tickets have been suspended by Gonzaga after he refused to wear a mask.
Stockton spoke on the issue, saying, “Basically, it came down to, they were asking me to wear a mask to the games and being a public figure, someone a little bit more visible, I stuck out in the crowd a little bit.” He continued saying, “And therefore they received complaints and felt like from whatever the higher-ups – those weren’t discussed, but from whatever it was higher up – they were going to have to either ask me to wear a mask or they were going to suspend my tickets.”
Gonzaga requires proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test that was taken within 72 hours in order to attend home games, along with an indoor mask requirement. From there, Stockton claimed athletes dying while playing sports after getting the vaccine, saying, “I think it’s highly recorded now, there’s 150 I believe now, it’s over 100 professional athletes dead – professional athletes – the prime of their life, dropping dead that are vaccinated, right on the pitch, right on the field, right on the court.” Take a look above.
