Update 02/15/2022 4:28pm:
According to reports, Alec Baldwin is being sued by the family of Halyna Hutchins in a wrongful death lawsuit.
The lawsuit lays out the different “lapses” that led to the death of Hutchins on the set of ‘Rust.’ One of the alleged lapses pointed out live ammunition being on the set. The suit when on to claim “[Baldwin] released the revolver’s hammer, and — BAM — defendant Baldwin fired the revolver.” The lawsuit also went on to claim that Alec Baldwin never checked the gun for ammo himself ahead of firing it off.
Baldwin isn’t the only person being sued, as the assistant director David Halls and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were named. The suit filed by the family of Hutchins is currently asking for unspecified damages, along with punitive damages.

Alec Baldwin spoke with George Stephanopoulos in his first interview since the shooting on the set of Rust that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
According to Baldwin, he didn’t pull the trigger on the hot gun. When asked to detail what happened, Baldwin said, “Well, the trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger.” This new wrinkle in Baldwin’s story now suggests that the gun misfired on its own as opposed to him wittingly or unwittingly firing a weapon on a movie set with a live round.
TMZ interviewed Hollywood weapons expert Steve Wolf about the shooting and he said that the slightest pressure could make a gun discharge, especially the weapon used on the film set.
